Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro
Impressive fitness watch with an amazing battery life
Price: R4 999

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is such an impressive-looking watch, it can be easily mistaken for the Apple Watch Ultra, which costs three times the price. The feel and build quality are excellent. It has an aluminium alloy frame and the bezel is made of titanium alloy, while the face is made from durable artificial sapphire glass. The watch fits comfortably around your wrists and the straps feel premium. The rounded rectangular 1.82-inch Amoled display provides 3 000 nits of brightness and even in sunlight delivers an impressive viewing experience.
But how does it perform? For starters it is packed with sensors that include an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, optical heart rate sensor, barometer, temperature, ambient light, an ECG sensor, as well as a depth sensor. This all means it is very well equipped for most sports and health measurements and you can even dive up to a depth of 40m with it.
Another of the Pro’s cool features is advanced terrain map tracking with offline routes and real-time alerts. If you’re a golfer, it has golf course and driving range modes with GPS mapping.
Health tracking is also impressive: ECG measurements are available; it can do sleep tracking; it has an SpO2 blood oxygen measure; it can perform a pulse wave arrhythmia analysis; and it can track your body temperature.
The best part about this watch is the battery life. Huawei claims ten days of battery life, but conservatively, if you are active and use it extensively, bank on eight days. That is very decent compared to other premium smart watches in the market.
The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is an impressive smart watch with top-notch features at a fantastic price point. Sadly, if your golf game is abysmal, the watch won’t do much to improve that, but you will you impress your four-ball with the features.
Jabra Engage 65
The world’s most professional headset
Price: R7 500
https://www.jabra.com/en-GB/business/office-headsets/jabra-engage/jabra-engage-65/
The last five years have seen an extraordinary shift in how we work. The hybrid work mode we are in today has defined the new normal. Before Covid struck in 2020, around 25% of meetings were virtual. Today 75% of all work meetings are virtual. Yet I remain amazed at how many organisations still don’t have the right tools to engage in these virtual meetings when it comes to sound and visuals.
The Danish company Jabra has been building audiovisual equipment for decades and it understands the importance of a great quality microphone and sound. The design and technology that has gone into the Jabra Engage headset is like no other.
One of the most important aspects of virtual meetings is getting rid of background noise, especially if you are working from home. The advanced noise-cancelling microphone and enhanced speakers deliver crystal-clear calls and can eliminate background noises from dogs, kids, and even a vacuum cleaner.
Security is paramount in today’s world. To eliminate eavesdropping on your calls, the Jabra 65 Engage establishes authentication between headset and base with 128-bit level technology.
The battery life is 13 hours, and it has an impressive 150-metre range, so if you feel like stretching your legs and going for a walk you can do this with ease.
With an incredibly comfortable fit, and weighing just 83 grams, you won’t even feel you are wearing it after a few minutes. Just ignore the “old school” comments from Millennials. Once even they try one of these Jabra Engage 65s on, there will be no turning back!

The Goal Zero Yeti 200X is one of the most versatile power stations. It is extremely portable and easy to take with you in the bush or to any outdoor activity that has limited access to electricity.
Firstly, it weighs just 2.95kg and it has 187-watt hours of energy stored in the lithium battery.
To put that into perspective, with that energy, you can charge a cellphone 16 times, or a tablet eight times, or four laptops – it can even power a portable fridge for a few hours. Plus, it comes with a variety of different charging ports.
The other cool feature, if you don’t have access to the grid, is the ability to pair it with a Goal Zero solar panel that will charge and provide energy at the same time.
